Blue Barn – Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales Art Print

This expressive landscape print captures a traditional Yorkshire Dales cow house — known locally as a “cow’us” — set among the wildflower meadows of Swaledale.

Painted from a viewpoint near the path to Kisdon Gorge, this scene sits between Muker and Keld, where some of the most celebrated meadows in the country come into their own. These fields form part of the Coronation Meadows, recognised for their rich variety of native wildflowers, and are at their best in early summer when the landscape comes alive with colour.

A stone-paved path runs through the fields, allowing walkers to pass through without disturbing the flowers — a small but thoughtful detail that stays with people.

This stretch of Swaledale is also where long-distance routes meet. Here, the Coast to Coast walk (now Wainwright’s Way) crosses paths with the Pennine Way, bringing together walkers from different journeys, each carrying their own stories through the landscape.

“Blue Barn” reflects not just the structure itself, but the working life of the Dales — barns built for purpose, fields shaped by care, and a landscape that continues to be lived in and walked through.

Rich in colour and movement, this Yorkshire Dales art print captures a place where nature, history and everyday life meet.

Perfect for walkers, lovers of the Dales, or anyone drawn to landscapes with character and quiet detail.

Part of the “Stories from the Coast to Coast” collection.

Part of a limited edition of 135 this giclee print is mounted in a 50 cms x 50cms acid free mount ready to drop into a standard frame.

Studio Visits

My studio is open by appointment, offering a relaxed chance to see the work up close, talk through ideas, and spend time with the paintings in the space they’re made. Visitors are welcome to browse finished pieces, view works in progress, and ask questions — no pressure, no white gloves, just an honest look at the process behind the work. If you’re considering a particular painting or commission, a studio visit allows time to connect with the story, the colour, the humour and the detail that doesn’t always come through on a screen. Expect conversation, a cuppa, might stretch to a custard cream and a bit of a gossip but always a very warm welcome.

Studio visits are designed to feel comfortable and welcoming — especially if you’ve never visited an artist’s studio before.
