Showtime – Yorkshire Dales Country Show Art Print

This expressive Yorkshire Dales art print captures a moment familiar across Yorkshire  — the agricultural show, where livestock, livelihoods and local pride come together.

Farmers gather at the railings, catching up, exchanging news and quietly assessing what’s in front of them. Behind them, the sheep stand in the pen, freshly washed, clipped and readied — on their best behaviour, at least for now.

These shows carry more than competition. They are social gatherings, family efforts and a continuation of tradition — where generations come together to prepare, present and hope for that small but meaningful recognition. A rosette here can bring not just pride, but value.

“Showtime” reflects that balance between the everyday and the ceremonial — where work becomes performance, and the real business often happens just out of earshot.

Rich in character and gentle humour, this Yorkshire Dales art print celebrates rural life, community and the unspoken rituals that hold it all together.

Perfect for those connected to farming, countryside life, or anyone who recognises the subtleties of people and place.

Part of the “Stories from the Coast to Coast” collection.

A Yorkshire Dales art print capturing the quiet scene of an agricultural show — farmers gathered in conversation while the sheep wait, freshly preened and ready for judging.

A familiar scene of pride, routine and a bit of well-placed gossip.

Studio Visits

My studio is open by appointment, offering a relaxed chance to see the work up close, talk through ideas, and spend time with the paintings in the space they’re made. Visitors are welcome to browse finished pieces, view works in progress, and ask questions — no pressure, no white gloves, just an honest look at the process behind the work. If you’re considering a particular painting or commission, a studio visit allows time to connect with the story, the colour, the humour and the detail that doesn’t always come through on a screen. Expect conversation, a cuppa, might stretch to a custard cream and a bit of a gossip but always a very warm welcome.

Studio visits are designed to feel comfortable and welcoming — especially if you’ve never visited an artist’s studio before.
