Pink Hat Little Relic art talisman by Sue Dewhurst

Pink Hat – Little Relic | Signed Giclee Art Print

£45.00

Pink Hat Art Print and Little Relic

A tiny piece of art with a rather big story.

Every family seemed to have a Pink Hat.

She appeared at weddings, funerals, christenings and family dos. Nobody was entirely sure whose side of the family she belonged to, and nobody ever thought to ask.

She had kind eyes, a faint smell of mint humbugs and rose water — and, of course, that pink hat.

Pink Hat began life as one of my original character paintings, inspired by the ordinary people who populate our memories: the aunties, neighbours, grandparents and mysterious family friends we may not have properly appreciated at the time, but somehow never forget.

The Little Relic Art Print takes that story beyond the original painting.

Inside you’ll find a signed giclée print of Pink Hat, accompanied by carefully chosen pieces of ephemera that evoke the world she came from — the scraps, words and little reminders that make memories feel tangible.

I’ve made each Little Relic as a small art talisman: something to prop on a shelf, keep amongst treasured things or give to somebody who understands that the ordinary bits of life often turn out to have been the important bits.

Because Pink Hat isn’t really about one particular woman.

She’s about recognition.

That strange feeling of looking at somebody you’ve never met and thinking:

“Good grief. I know her.”

And she’s a small reminder of something I’ve become increasingly fond of saying:

We’re here for a good time, not necessarily a long time.

So wear the pink hat. Eat the buffet. Have the second slice of cake. Talk to the peculiar woman at the wedding.

You never know which bits you’ll remember.

Each Little Relic contains: a signed Pink Hat giclée print, story-inspired ephemera and keepsake presentation box.

£45

Only 2 Little Relic boxes have been made for this first collection.

The signed giclée print is not a numbered limited edition.

A tiny artwork with a big story. Pink Hat Little Relic contains a signed giclée print and story-filled ephemera — an art talisman to keep or give.

Studio Visits

My studio is open by appointment, offering a relaxed chance to see the work up close, talk through ideas, and spend time with the paintings in the space they’re made. Visitors are welcome to browse finished pieces, view works in progress, and ask questions — no pressure, no white gloves, just an honest look at the process behind the work. If you’re considering a particular painting or commission, a studio visit allows time to connect with the story, the colour, the humour and the detail that doesn’t always come through on a screen. Expect conversation, a cuppa, might stretch to a custard cream and a bit of a gossip but always a very warm welcome.

Studio visits are designed to feel comfortable and welcoming — especially if you’ve never visited an artist’s studio before.
