Owd Lasses Art Exhibition in Cardigan April 2026 | Sue Dewhurst Owd Lasses & Rural Lives
Lock Up Your Grandads The Girls Are Coming To Cardigan
There’s something stirring in Cardigan this April… and you might want to warn your Grandads.
From 19th–25th April, I’ll be bringing my bold, cheeky and humorous art exhibition
to the Corn Exchange at The Guildhall in Aberteifi. A week-long exhibition filled with stories of people and place — with just a bit of mischief thrown in for good measure.
This exhibition brings together two of my signature collections:
- The Owd Lasses – unapologetic, witty women inspired by real Northern characters, full of attitude, humour and lived experience
- Rural Lives – expressive paintings of countryside and coastal life, capturing the grit, beauty and nostalgia of working landscapes
Alongside my work, I’ll also be showcasing a handpicked selection of guest makers, including beautiful glass pieces from Dogem Glass and other unique finds from my Oriel Haywire days.
My work is rooted in storytelling — the kind you recognise instantly.
The woman you saw in the precinct.
The one rushing past chapel to bingo.
The farmer braced against the wind.
These paintings aren’t polished postcards — they’re about real lives, humour, resilience and the moments in between.
